Uphold the written Torah..do not let those who have no faith take you away from HaShem. You
can say no if its wrong that they ask of you. But be encouraged if life seems unjust..it is because
of the fall of the heavenly realm as we discussed in last weeks Torah. To shine the light of Torah
and Yeshua it is a hard road and you will see many up on the world stage living the glamorous
life and apparently being Christian as their governments are talking a righteous path.

Those with the Spirit of G-d upon them, the Shekhinah or Ruach HaKodesh are those who even
when they don't really what is happening in the creation are protected because they have the truth
within them. Those who do know and turn to HaShem become angelic in their walk. The
command to lay on hands at the highest anointed levels to transfer authority is given

  • Num 27:16‘Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint someone over the
congregation 17 who shall go out before them and come in before them, who shall lead
them out and bring them in, so that the congregation of the Lord may not be like sheep
without a shepherd.’ 18 So the Lord said to Moses, ‘Take Joshua son of Nun, a man in
whom is the spirit, and lay your hand upon him; 19 have him stand before Eleazar the
priest and all the congregation, and commission him in their sight.

The Biblical Lunar Phased Calendar: This weeks Parshah actually brings us to these incredible
appointed times to show us how to be at one with the creation.

  • Num 28:1 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 2 Command the Israelites, and say to them:
My offering, the food for my offerings by fire, my pleasing odour, you shall take care to offer
to me at its appointed time.

We are not required to sacrifice but rather offer ourselves to HaShem through knowledge of him
and Torah study.

Whilst the Biblical calendar was commanded to Moshe in Exodus 12, this Torah reinforces each
new moon of the year to be a fixed time and celebration and thanks to HaShem for the creation of
the moon

  • Num 28:11 At the beginnings of your months you shall offer a burnt-offering to the Lord:
    two young bulls, one ram, seven male lambs a year old without blemish;

The other Moeds or appointed times concerning these holy days are also so reinforced in
chapter 29 and so all who seek HaShem need to be meeting with him on these days.

  • 28:16 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, there shall be a passover
sacrifice to the Lord 17 and on the fifteenth day of that month a festival. Unleavened bread
shall be eaten for seven days

This Torah ends with the offerings made each day over the Holy days of Sukkot. These are days
that have meaning to all mankind. We all come from Adam and HaShem is the father of mankind

Pinchas  "Phinehas" B'Midbar 25:10-31:1
As always in scripture much can be drawn from each word and here above Phinehas is honoured by a lengthy
introduction it would seem. What this is referring to is in last weeks Parshah Balak, the Moabite woman enticed
the Israelites into an orgy of idolatry and lust

  • Num 25:1 While Israel was staying at Shittim, the people profaned themselves by whoring with the
Moabite women 2 who invited the people to the sacrifices for their god. The people partook of them and
    worshiped that god

Phinehas took part in the execution of those responsible and thus staving the plague before it got worse and
stemmed the wrath of HaShem.

But why many might ask was it necessary for death in response...well HaShem created everything and he was
now trying to wean everyone away from those evil practices that so many (24,000) had quickly returned to after
the slavery in Egypt. By ridding the community of evil then the purpose of creation and purity of the truth will
prevail. It was these practices that caused the great flood of Noah's time. HaShem has to be given his wish
because it is him who gave us everything and it his him that our thanks must go to firstly. Of course this means
to study and uphold his Torah which would bring everyone before him after the fall of mankind. Left unchecked
plagues caused by immorality are most difficult and have far reaching consequences

Zimri and Cozby (Num 25:14-15) who were killed by Phinehas and revenge was sought against him by the
Midianites (Num 25:16-18). Being jealous HaShem is outlining the most serious condition of idolatry. HaShem
is zealous or jealous to punish for this serious transgression of his Torah. History had shown that those
responsible for very evil pagan and idolatrous practices were sacrificing children and people as part of the
ceremonies. Man left to his own devices leads to much evil. This above statement from HaShem also nullifies
mystic and other claims that there were other Gods who were creators...this is not so

Another census was now commanded after the plague to stem the evil and those responsible. HaShem himself
would know exactly how many were left but he gives Moshe and the people the occupation of such diligence and
work

  • Num 26:1After the plague the Lord said to Moses and to Eleazar son of Aaron the priest, 2 ‘Take a
census of the whole congregation of the Israelites, from twenty years old and upwards, by their ancestral
houses, everyone in Israel able to go to war.’ 3 Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the
plains of Moab by the Jordan opposite Jericho, saying, 4 ‘Take a census of the people, from twenty years
old and upwards’, as the Lord commanded Moses.

Such was Phinehas uptake in doing the will of HaShem that sages determined Elijah, who was very fierce, was
the reappearance of him. This weeks Haphtarah outlines the acts of Elijah words when challenged by HaShem.
There was but no one else who stood for HaShem other than Elijah and the Israelites were not of a talking
nature it would seem. Elijah like Phinehas had taken the sword to the offenders and so HaShem glorified them
for doing it.

The importance of upholding the Torah and bringing ourselves before HaShem is best achieved by learning the
plain meaning of the text. Much in the world has become tradition based and largely caused by the fall of the
heavenly realm and much evil. HaShem's true word has been obscured by false churches and others who will
not listen to HaShem and or adhere to his Torah. The plan of creation is amazing and wonderful and open for
those who seek to be "in his image". HaShem wants us (mankind) to seek him and the wonders of his
universe...the more one seeks the more one will discover
